Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

This is the go to recipe for making pizza when no dough was prepared the day before. It is the one we use most often.

Ingredients

.25 ounce yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water (~100 °F)
2.5 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup rolled oats (optional) 1
toppings (optional)
cheese, sauce, meats, veggies, …)

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 °F.

  1. In medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy (approximately 10 minutes).
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for approximately 5 minutes.
  3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round.
  4. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker’s peel dusted with cornmeal.
  5. Spread with desired toppings.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before serving.
